Genesis of the Department
- MCA courses were offered from 1994
- BCA courses were offered from 2013
- Affiliated to University of Madras from 1994 to 2001
- Affiliated to Anna University from 2002 to 2003
- Elevated as Deemed University from 2003 & University from 2006
- MCA course offered from 1994 with approval from AICTE
- Accredited by NBA-B grade from 2002 to 2007

Pedagogy
The pedagogy is a combination of tests and case studies. Hands on exercises will be provided to the students to ensure that the learning is complete and the right skills are imbibed by the students.
Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s)
- PEO 1. To demonstrate a sound knowledge in key areas of computer sciences or industrial computing.
- PEO2. To demonstrate a substantial understanding of concepts in key areas of computer sciences.
- PEO3. To carry out the required analysis and synthesis involved in computer systems, information systems and computer applications.
- PEO4. To demonstrate professional competence in developing software and in its design and implementations.
- PEO5. To develop sound practical skills to enable them to addressing problems which arise from computer systems and applications.

- PO1: To develop knowledge of Computing Fundamentals, programming concepts, and embedded systems.
- PO2: To analyse and apply latest technologies to solve problems in the areas of computer applications

- PO4: to develop an ability to design and conduct equipments, analyze and interpret data
- PO5: to develop skills to use modern tools, softwares to analyse problems.

- The department acts as consultants for government as well as private organizations like RRB, ELCOT, Trimentus, Hotel Benzz Park, Tamilnadu Police etc.,
- 70% of our students placed in reputed organizations.

- Mr. Samim Ansari of 3rd MCA have won First Prize in Technical Symposium 2010 conducted by Sastha University for Quiz Competition.
- Mr. Faiz Anwar have won First Prize in Technical Symposium 2010 conducted by Sastha University for Quiz Competition.
- Students of 3rd MCA Mr. Karthikeyan, Mr. Gautham and Mr. Mahesh Developed the website for the online journal website of our university ACS-IJCI.
